The Saint Next Door — Modern Day Saints and Today's Martyrs

Welcome to saintsnmartyrs.com, here we provide informational pages on those who have lived saintly lives within their communities. Some have since been canonized, such as Carlo Acutis (Sept 2025), and others may someday be canonized saints.

We hope you enjoy reading about these amazing young men and women who have lived in spiritual union with God. There are a lot of things written and spoken of regarding those in religious orders who have led such lives, but not enough is spoken about lay saints, especially those who lived within the last one hundred years.

Also, we have included other material of interest. For instance, modern day martyrs are, unfortunately, growing in numbers. We have included information on some of these brave souls.

So who is the Saint Next Door?

It is one of your neighbors, or someone at your workplace, or the clerk at the grocery store. In some way the Saint Next Door has entered your life. It may be only a casual acquaintance, but it could be that this Saint Next Door will have a profound impact on your life.

The Saint Next Door grew in spiritual life and depth through the practice of daily prayer, reception of the sacraments, and performing works of charity. They gave love to the poor and to those that others had turned their backs on. They were ordinary people doing extraordinary things with God's grace.
