Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by Your holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Reflection
The lifeless body of Jesus is placed in Mary's arms—the Pietà. The same arms that held Him as an infant now hold Him in death. Mary's sorrow is beyond words, yet her faith remains unshaken.
Prayer
O Mary, you held your dead Son in your arms. Obtain for me the grace of a happy death, that I may die in the arms of the Church, fortified by the sacraments. Be with me at the hour of my death. Amen.
